Yesterday’s debate showed us exactly what we already knew to be true:
Peter Welch is the right choice for Vermont, and we can’t risk our
opponent winning.
We heard more of the same extreme views that are out-of-touch with what
most Vermonters want, like his support for the Dobbs decision overturning
Roe v. Wade, and him doubling down on his comments that he wished he was
in Washington on January 6th.

not when the election is 25 days away and there’s so much at stake. So

Vermont’s next senator should be someone who represents Vermont values,
and who’s focused solutions, community, and integrity—not who gets credit.
And the fact is, Peter’s record speaks for itself. He’s worked across the
aisle to focus on shared problems and get solutions to benefit all
people—like funding for energy efficiency retrofitting. And he’s fighting
for climate action, abortion rights, and lower health care costs.
Unfortunately, yesterday’s debate proved that if elected, Peter’s opponent
would do more to represent Mitch McConnell and national Republicans than
Vermonters. They have their sights set on flipping the Senate red—and they
only need to pick up one seat to do it. They want to ban abortion, raise
taxes on the middle-class, and restrict voting rights. We can’t let that
happen. With our entire progressive agenda at stake, it’s up to us to come
together and defend our democracy.
