🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 Indivisibles,
We put out the call, and you answered! Thank you to everyone who weighed in on which of the most competitive House races this cycle we should add as our final slate of candidates to Give No Ground. We are proud to announce the top candidates you chose -- learn more about these incredible candidates below (or if you’re already with us and just want to skip to the good stuff: click here to sign up to volunteer with Give No Ground, join our upcoming national phonebank this weekend, or if you can, please donate $10 now to support all of our work to turn out voters and win these majority-making races.)
- Josh Riley (NY-19) is in a tossup race to represent one of New York’s most important battleground districts. While Josh is focused on delivering for the working-class communities of upstate New York, his opponent Marcus Molinaro is running on an anti-choice, anti-healthcare record. Molinaro has even transferred thousands of dollars from his campaign account to an anti-abortion group responsible for crisis pregnancy centers.
- Jevin Hodge (AZ-01) is running in one of the most promising opportunities to flip a seat from Republican to Democrat this cycle. GOP incumbent David Schweikert is among the most corrupt members of Congress, having been reprimanded by the House for misuse of campaign funds and ethics violations. Schweikert supports a no-exceptions abortion ban, but Jevin is fighting to protect choice and healthcare for Arizona.
- Will Rollins (CA-41) is a young pro-democracy candidate running to unseat anti-choice extremist Ken Calvert. Calvert voted against the Women’s Health Protection Act, supports jailing doctors who provide abortions, and supports rapists’ right to dictate whether a victim can get an abortion. In Congress, Will will fight for our rights and our democracy, and hold violent extremists accountable.
- Rep. Kim Schrier (WA-08) is a pro-choice Democrat with a strong record of serving her district since elected to Congress in 2018. She’s in a tossup race against a radical MAGA candidate who has confirmed that he’s in favor of a nationwide abortion ban, and would outlaw abortion even in cases of rape and incest. Rep. Schrier will always fight for the right to choose and continue bringing jobs and investment to WA-08.
- Rep. Tom Malinowski (NJ-07) is a democracy champion in a tough race against an anti-choice Republican extremist. GOP nominee Tom Kean has made it clear he supports Lindsey Graham’s abortion ban but doesn’t have the courage to talk about this radical position on reproductive freedom with voters. Rep. Malinowski is an accomplished diplomat focused on fighting inflation and protecting the right to choose for New Jersey.
- Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03) is running to flip her red district blue and defeat one of the most extreme MAGA candidates running for Congress this year. GOP nominee Joe Kent is a Trump-obsessed conspiracy theorist openly planning to weaponize Congress against political enemies. Marie is committed to protecting the right to choose and fighting for working families.
- Rep. Mary Peltola (AK-AL) made history earlier this year when she became the first Alaska Native member of Congress in history. She beat two Republican opponents—including Sarah Palin—to win the statewide seat for the Democratic majority. She’s facing down her extreme MAGA opponents again this November and the grassroots are rallying to keep her in Congress. None of us want to live in a world where Congresswoman Sarah Palin is a federal lawmaker.
- Kristen Engel (AZ-06) is a pro-choice grassroots champion running to hold one of the most vulnerable Democratic districts in 2022. Her opponent, Juan Ciscomani, is an anti-choice MAGA conservative who has refused to condemn white nationalism and walked away from voters when questioned about his position on abortion. Kristen will fight for choice for Arizonans and will protect public schools from political takeovers by MAGA operatives.
- After serving North Carolinians for years on the state Supreme Court, Cheri Beasley (NC-Senate) is running for Senate to continue protecting our rights and freedoms. She’s running to defend reproductive freedom for all Americans and make sure extremists like Ted Budd, an anti-choice MAGA extremist who supported the efforts to overturn the 2020 election. We need leaders like Cheri Beasley to win in key battlegrounds like North Carolina.
Remember: all of these races are currently rated as Tossup or Lean-Republican. That means it will all come down to turnout. We can’t blanket the airwaves with ads like billionaire MAGA donors -- but we can work our ground game through local Indivisible groups knocking doors and hosting events, as well as mobilize out-of-state activists using our peer-to-peer tools to call and text voters. Together, our network has what it takes to turn folks out and WIN.
How will we do that? First – we're adding new opportunities every day for GOTV to our Give No Ground program, and with all of these new candidates, we have a ton of voters to reach in a hurry. Sign up right now to volunteer with us to call, text and mobilize voters with us, and we’ll send you everything you need to get started. You can even jump in this weekend using our volunteer-favorite Hubdialer (a predictive dialer that skips the dialing and busy signals to quickly connect you with voters) – RSVP to join us on Sunday, October 16 at 5pm Eastern Time/2pm Pacific Time to call out the vote for Jamie McLeod Skinner in OR-5!
Second – it takes grassroots support to invest in these races with direct candidate support, phonebanking, textbanking, group support, and more. We’re still behind where we want to be in order to throw down in all of these races, so we’re asking you: can you chip in $10 right now to fund all of our voter turnout work for these Give No Ground candidates?
Our majority in the House is on the line, and we’re ready to fight like hell to defend it. Thank you for being with us every step of the way.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
