Marisa raised her family here in Bakersfield and after 36 years, she has deep roots in this community she calls home. Because of this, Marisa intimately understands the problems our communities face -- rising crime and poverty rates, providing every student an education that addresses the challenges of learning loss and meets them where they are, and the impact the failing water infrastructure has on our farming and rural communities.

There’s no doubt this is going to be a competitive race that has a lot of national attention. But Marisa jumped in this race on the premise that we need a representative that’s accessible and focused on local issues here at home – that’s the type of campaign we’re running.
