John,

In case you missed it, last month the New York Times dropped a bombshell report revealing that while Paul LePage was governor, he claimed a homestead exemption on his home in Florida while trying to eliminate the same tax exemption for 200,000+ Mainers.

That’s right. LePage was benefitting from a tax break on his second home, but wanted to deny the same tax break for Maine families.

Paul LePage doesn’t think that the rules apply to him. Maine deserves better than LePage. Will you pitch in $5 now to elect Democrats and stop Paul LePage?

This is another classic Paul LePage story: throwing Mainers under the bus to put himself first. We’ve seen this behavior over and over again and it’s clear he won’t change.

Don’t forget: as governor, LePage prioritized tax breaks for the wealthiest Mainers and forced tax increases on most Maine workers and families. In fact, most Mainers’ property taxes increased five out of eight years LePage was in office.

We want leaders who fight for all Mainers, not themselves and their wealthy friends. Help us send LePage back to Florida and chip in towards our end-of-month goal now.
