This week, we informed you of our ethics complaint filed against Kenneth Chesebro. Attorney Chesebro is the apparent mastermind of the theory that the Vice President had the authority to recognize and count fake elector votes in lieu of votes that had been certified by each state’s Electoral College. We are proud that so many prominent lawyers joined in signing this complaint and that this work was covered by The New York Times.
Since we shared this information, many of you have reached out to ask if you could also add your signature. We welcome you to do so, and will forward the additional information to the Attorney Grievance Committee of the State of New York.
Today, Dennis Aftergut, LDAD Of Counsel, and Harvard Law School Professor Laurence Tribe, an original signer of the complaint, wrote a brilliant opinion article for Slate that explains why protection of the rule of law depends on lawyers. As they compellingly argue, the corollary to that point is that those lawyers who subvert the rule of law must be held accountable for violating their oath to defend the Constitution.
We appreciate hearing from you about this. If you choose to add your signature to this complaint, please do so by Tuesday, October 18.
