Migrants deserve better than to be treated as political pawns by lawmakers who are enacting cruelty to rile up their political base.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey have proudly boasted that they have put thousands of migrants on buses to D.C., Chicago, and New York. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis used taxpayer money to fly migrants from San Antonio, TX to Martha’s Vineyard, MA.

The depravity and cynicism of this is absolutely horrific. These are vulnerable human beings who are being lured and manipulated with false promises of employment and housing opportunities.

Sign the petition to the Department of Justice: Govs. Abbott, DeSantis and Ducey must be investigated for their human rights abuses against migrants.

As National Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close on October 15, we should be honoring and recognizing the heroes and leaders in Hispanic communities around the country, but instead extremist politicians want to use blatant acts of racism and xenophobia to repeat a dark past in American history.

In the 1960s, in response to the successful Freedom Rides that aimed to enforce anti-segregation laws on interstate buses, segregationist governors and city officials chartered buses and sent hundreds of Black Americans—including children!—to northern cities by outright lying to them and telling them they would receive employment, housing, healthcare, and other social service benefits.

We cannot allow history to continue to repeat itself and let these human rights abuses continue.

Join us in calling on the Department of Justice to investigate this misuse of taxpayer funds and end this modern day human trafficking.
