If Texas is the front line in the battle for American democracy and a livable future, Greg Casar is leading the charge.

Greg got his start as an organizer for the Workers Defense Project, where he helped pass first-of-its-kind ordinances to protect workers on the job.

When Greg was elected to Austin City Council at age 25, he went on to serve seven years and lead many of the boldest reforms in the state, including what was described by the Austin-American Statesman as the “most progressive labor policy for the entire state and possibly the American South.”

Simply put, Greg shows up and gets the job done.

Now he’s going to Congress to fight for progress in the South – and for ALL of us.

Greg will add to the fight for Medicare for All, living wages, affordable housing, and the Green New Deal. And his background as an organizer who gets results is just what we need in Congress.

Like Greg, Brand New Congress believes there are no “red states” and “blue states.” There are gerrymandered states, and there are under-organized states, and every community is worth fighting for.
