Assault weapons have been used in all of the deadliest shootings in U.S. history—Las Vegas, Sutherland Springs, Sandy Hook, and Parkland—and the two deadliest shootings so far this year in Uvalde and Buffalo.
Assault rifles are the weapon of choice for mass shooters because they make shootings deadlier. These weapons were designed for the battlefield, not for hunting or self defense.
In the wake of Uvalde and Buffalo, Congress passed the first major piece of gun safety legislation in nearly 30 years. Now we have to keep the pressure on to make sure that bill marks just the beginning, not the end, of federal action to stop senseless gun violence. We can’t afford to wait another three decades.
We don’t have to accept gun violence as the price of living in the United States, John. Please, add your name to help us show that a majority of Americans want to keep weapons of war off our streets.
Thank you,
