I want to be completely honest with you. In just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to my campaign. But first, I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain why.

In just a few short days, we’ll close the books on the most important fundraising deadline of the entire year: our last end-of-quarter FEC filing deadline.

After the deadline we’ll have to release our fundraising numbers publicly. If we don’t have a strong showing, Republicans will think we’re vulnerable, and they’ll start barraging the district with even more attack ads. It’s crucial we prove the strength of our grassroots team.

Republicans are desperate to win back my seat in Congress. They know that it’s one of the most important seats they’ll need to take back control of the House and undo all the work we’ve accomplished.

This year, I’ve worked with members of Congress across the aisle to make health care more affordable, lower prescription drug prices, defend women’s rights, ensure universal background checks on gun sales, increase transparency in our elections, and much, much more.

I am not taking any corporate PAC money, because I will only be accountable to my voters. However, this means our campaign relies on grassroots donors like you to stand up to our well-funded opponents and their National Republican backers.
