John – One of the most important provisions of the 2010 Affordable Care Act is the Medicaid Expansion program.

Simply put, Medicaid expansion allocates federal funds to give medical insurance coverage to people who would otherwise fall through the cracks of private insurance eligibility.

This groundbreaking program extended healthcare coverage to over 21 million Americans in 2021.

But Republicans in Congress and in state legislatures across the country have tried to stop this program by exploiting the loophole that requires states to “opt in” to receiving the funds.

Four years ago, despite Republican efforts to kill Medicaid expansion in our state, Prop 2 passed with a whopping 60.5% of the vote – proving that voters in red states want their neighbors to have healthcare.

I believe we need to build on the provisions of the ACA and make sure *everyone* has healthcare. That includes lowering the cost of prescription drugs and making mental health resources available. Pitch in now to help me flip this Senate seat in November so I can fight for our healthcare from Washington.

The Federal government pays 90% of the cost of Medicaid expansion, and repeated studies have shown the 10% paid by the states is offset by savings on other programs. In fact, most states end up with money left over!

There are only two reasons to oppose Medicaid expansion:

  • To keep healthcare expensive and unattainable so your donors at Big Pharma and giant insurance corporations can keep getting rich.

  • To make the ACA less effective and score political points against Democrats.

We MUST stop playing games with people’s lives.

The people of Idaho spoke clearly 4 years ago when they demanded healthcare coverage for everyone. Help me flip this Senate seat and fight for EVERYONE’S right to healthcare.

David Roth is a single, gay dad running to flip a U.S. Senate seat in Idaho. His opponent is an extremist “pro-life” Republican who’s been in politics for 37 years. David stepped up to serve the state that has been his home most of his life, where he is now raising his two young sons, because every state is worth fighting for. There has never been an openly gay man elected to the U.S. Senate. Help us make history this year. Pitch in now to flip this seat and send David to D.C.
