Dear John,

As members of VoteRiders’ staff on the ground in Central Florida, it’s been a hard month. Hurricane Ian has resulted in massive flooding, displacement, and damage that will take years to recover from.
There is another aspect to disaster response that is often overlooked: How to vote in a state like Florida if your ID is destroyed or lost in a natural disaster.

Both of us, plus all of our amazing Florida volunteers, are working around the clock to help people replace lost documents, make DMV appointments, and obtain the IDs they need to vote in Florida ahead of the quickly-approaching midterms.

We need your help! Will you step up and make a donation to VoteRiders to help pay for IDs for the thousands of Floridians who need one to vote right away?

For so many in our state, important documents like birth certificates or Social Security cards have been destroyed or lost following Ian. Not only that, but countless DMV appointments – some of which we worked for weeks to schedule and coordinate transportation to — were canceled before, during, and immediately after the hurricane.

We can’t neglect this serious issue and need to keep it from having a huge impact on the elections this November. Florida voters need to show a current photo ID when they vote in person. That means the thousands of voters whose IDs were destroyed or lost in Hurricane Ian may not be able to vote unless we act quickly to help them now.

We're counting on you to make a donation to help these voters replace their lost or destroyed ID in time to vote in November. >> [link removed]

At VoteRiders, we don’t want any eligible voter to ever be turned away or stay home because of voter ID laws. Your support is critical to making sure every Florida voter is able to cast a ballot this year. >> [link removed]

Thank you for helping out our fellow Floridians,

Jazlyn Gallego and Eli Garcia
