Investing in the U.S. Economy

Dear Neighbors,

I was in Middlesex County this week with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo to talk about Congress’s historic investments in American manufacturing, innovation, and supply chains. Our discussion also highlighted the progress Middlesex County officials have made in developing business and innovation in New Jersey, including the New Jersey Innovation and Technology Hub in New Brunswick.

This year, I’ve worked with the Biden Administration to pass legislation to bolster our economy, including the CHIPS and Science Act that will lower costs for consumers, create good-paying American jobs, and end our dangerous dependence on foreign manufacturers of critical goods. New Jersey has a well-known reputation for leading the nation in research and manufacturing, and we’re working together to continue that legacy by investing in American workers and businesses right here in our backyard. President Biden signed the bill into law in August.

Major Improvements Coming to Metropark Station

I joined Governor Murphy at Metropark Station this week for an important announcement about new improvements coming to the station and surrounding area. The state is planning a major redevelopment, including upgrades to the train station’s infrastructure and new office and residential space. This announcement marks an important first step in Metropark Station’s transformation into a walkable community with direct access to the transit station. This investment in our public transit infrastructure will enhance the station’s safety and accessibility for commuters who rely on it.

Checking in with Our Trade Unions and Workers

I had a great meeting with my Labor Advisory Committee this week. Thanks to their support, we have implemented a historic pro-worker agenda, including passage of the CHIPS and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act. We discussed the need to protect American workers and ensure fair wages.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
