Hi there -
October is a month for celebration. It’s a time to raise awareness and shatter stereotypes. Why? Because people with Down syndrome are just like you and me. They have similar hopes and dreams. They can drive, go to work, go to college, go on dates, get married, and contribute to society.
That's why, here at Special Olympics, we celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month to ensure that people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities have a bright future and are able to fulfill their dreams. Meet some of the athletes who are shattering stereotypes and helping create that vision of a more inclusive world:
Special Olympics athletes with Down syndrome have opened the world’s eyes to what they CAN do, with the right resources. Let’s make sure that together, we reach more people like Nate and Abigail with the opportunities, training, and support they deserve. Will you help us give them a chance and make a donation today in honor of Down Syndrome Awareness month?
We can’t do it without you!
