At New Politics, we’re not just here to talk about helping campaigns, we’re actually putting in the hours (and the texts, calls, and miles!) to get the word out about our endorsed candidates.
And you can help us do that by volunteering your time between now and the election. With less than four weeks until November 8th, time is running out to make the difference. If you’ve been looking for a way to do your part in supporting the kind of leaders who don’t shy away from putting country and community first when things get tough, now’s your shot.
Below are two of our servant-leader candidates who could use your help this weekend:
Pat is a fifth-generation Ulster County native, decorated combat veteran, small businessman, and County Executive. Pat’s life has been shaped by a desire to serve his community. Growing up in Kingston, his mom, Patti, was a public school teacher at Chambers Elementary School, and his father, Kevin, ran a small business in Kingston. They taught Pat that we have an obligation to give back to our community and to take care of everyone in it – especially the most vulnerable among us. After graduating from Kingston High School, Pat attended West Point and served two combat tours in Iraq as an Army intelligence officer. After leaving the military, he founded a small technology company, which he grew to over 150 employees. Elected in 2019, Pat has served as Ulster County Executive, leading the county through a once in a century pandemic, spearheading the effort to transform the former IBM site after decades of sitting dormant, providing direct financial relief to small businesses and residents, building supportive and affordable housing, re-investing in mental health services, all while never raising taxes. Pat not only has a clear understanding of what needs to be done, but the track record to achieve it.

Kadja Manuel is a proud native of Trenton, New Jersey who served in the U.S. Army for 6 years with a Military Occupational Specialty of a Human Resources Specialist where he has held the titles of Public Affairs Officer, Human Resources Officer, and Executive Administrative Supervisor. Kadja has been involved with the LGBTQ Rights movement since 2013 and has been a part of several community events and panels worldwide to shed light on the experiences of LGBTQ People of Color.
Kadja’s passion is to help improve the lives and circumstances of marginalized communities. He is a VFW New Jersey Member-at-Large, a member of Mercer County Young Democrats, and a New Leaders Council Fellow. Kadja was also elected to serve as the 3rd Vice President of the Trenton Branch NAACP where he also Chairs the Armed Services & Veteran Affairs Committee and is the founding Chair of the LGBTQ Committee.

We support outstanding military veterans and national service leaders, alumni of programs like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps, to step up and serve our country again, this time through politics. We were proud to be behind the movement of veterans who ran for office for the first time in 2018, and we have big plans to grow into the future.
