Problem Solvers Caucus Continues to Prove Bipartisanship is Possible in Endorsements of Key Bills

Last week, the Problem Solvers Caucus announced the endorsement of the USPS Fairness Act; the Restoring Investment in Improvements Act; the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act; and the Never Again Education Act. In backing these four initiatives, the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, led by Co-Chairs Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ-5) and Tom Reed (R-NY-3), have come together to build bipartisan consensus on policies that help our hardworking families, help our government work better...

"What to do with the many other defined-benefit pensions covering unionized workers of entire industries remains unsettled. Decades ago, when they were formed, these plans seemed like a good way to spread risks and benefits across trucking, coal, commercial baking and other industries; and it did not seem dangerous to insure them through the federal Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. (PBGC). Then came economic upheaval. Today, 125 of the 1,400 plans are expected to be insolvent within the next two decades..."
