When I took this picture on my Induction Day at the Naval Academy, I couldn’t have imagined that I’d wind up where I did – as a 20-year Navy vet and a member of Congress.

But there’s one thing I knew for sure back then: I loved my country, and I’d defend it with everything I have. I’m proud to stand by that today and every day.

I took a break from the campaign trail this week to focus on my work with the January 6th Committee, but in my absence we saw a significant drop-off in fundraising.

We can’t afford to fall any further behind, especially less than a month before I face off against an election denier in the most competitive House district in the country. The stakes are just too high.
