Hey there,
We won't lie, it's a rough time to be fighting for the Ocean.
We've got a government that's seemingly hellbent on screwing the environment and it's hard not to feel deflated. Thankfully, we've got an incredible community of Ocean Activists and we're all part of a much larger network of inspiring individuals and groups who won't stand by while our environment is threatened.
So right now we're determined to work harder than ever to prevent this #AttackOnNature and to fight #ForTheOcean. Thanks for sticking with us.
Here's a flavour of just what we're dealing with...
We are furious about the mistreatment of our rivers - the arteries of the ocean being used as open sewers. So, we're doing something about it.
Not only are we campaigning for 200 designated inland bathing waters, we've also launched a River Bathing support project and have created a community toolkit to support you through the application for River Bathing Designation for your local river.

Despite the mess we're in, there's an army of campaigners working to lift the lid on the sewage scandal.
ENDS Documentary - SEVERN: The poisoning of Britain's Amazon [[link removed]]
We'd recommend giving this a watch. Whistleblowers from the Environment Agency reveal the state of affairs that have led to the health decline in our waters. ENDS have pulled together this 30 minute documentary on the sewage scandal and the river Severn, SAS is featured.
It's free to watch but ENDS requires an email address to be entered. Watch here. [[link removed]]
The government's mini-budget and 'Brexit Freedoms Bill' make their disregard for environmental protections clear. You can read more on this from our policy officer here [[link removed]].
Liz Truss herself delivered a £235m cut to the Environment Agency between 2014-16 during her time as environment secretary. This resulted in £24m from a government grant for environmental protections being slashed, a grant that included funds for the surveillance of water companies to prevent them from breaking permits. So, any surprises that we’re in the sewage shitstorm we’re currently in? We think not.
Our anger shouldn't go unheard. You can write to your MP and demand they oppose this bill. Your MP represents YOU in parliament and the more voices that speak up, the more chance we have of making a difference. Don’t know who your MP is? Find out here [[link removed]].
