I hate emailing you like this, John, but I have a request:

Will you please rush a split donation of $25 or more between the 1973 Action Fund and our reelection campaign in New Hampshire?

We cut down our fundraising projections because donations to emails like this one really slowed down. Our campaign is built to withstand ebbs and flows, but I’ve never seen a dip quite like what we experienced last month – and we are currently making budget cuts.

This is an enormous setback.

I don’t need you to make up everything – that’s not how teams work – but if you’re able, I do need you to please urgently split $25 between my campaign and the 1973 Action Fund.

I’ll admit, the Republican attacks are unsettling. They’re misleading voters – and they’ve put almost $60 million and counting behind their message.

I only won my last race by 1,017 votes. We HAVE to build up the funds to debunk these attacks. Please, if you can, split a donation between me and the 1973 Action Fund (really, $25 would make a huge difference) to help us fill our fundraising gap right now.
