Would you rather speak to strangers on the phone or lose democracy?

What about if we told you that speaking to strangers on the phone also involves hanging out with Dan Pfeiffer?

If that sounds slightly more appealing, (or you’re feeling guilty about how much you hate strangers), join us on Tuesday for a phonebank with Sister District, and yes, Dan Pfeiffer.

PHONEBANK WITH DAN

Dan will be joining the good people of Sister District, and also hopefully you, at 5pm ET on Tuesday, October 18th.  We’ll be making calls for North Carolina State Senator Sydney Batch. If phone-banking is new for you, you’ll be trained before you get started!

If you’re asking yourself why you should care about the North Carolina State Senate, we have a very good answer for you: North Carolina is one of the few remaining states where people can access abortion care in the South. That’s only because the Tarheel State has a Democratic Governor, Roy Cooper who has promised to veto anti-choice legislation. However, Republicans are aiming to pick up a couple of seats to control a supermajority of the state legislature in these elections, which would enable them to override the Governor’s veto and pass an abortion ban. Protecting Senator Batch’s seat is critical to preventing the supermajority and defending the last oasis of abortion care in the South.

Talking to voters is the most effective thing each of us can do in the final weeks. The collective effort we put in to persuade and turnout voters over the next month will truly be the difference between winning and losing. The 2022 midterms couldn’t be tighter. Every conversation counts.

See you on Tuesday,

Team VSA
