When some of us think of “rescue,” we imagine the dramatic FBI raids that you hear about on TV… but that’s only one way victims find help.
We’ve seen survivors doing that heroic work themselves. We know one youth in our care who hands out cards with the national human trafficking hotline to other children. Another realized a friend of hers was being trafficked. She did the hard work of convincing her friend to take action and supporting her to connect with Love146 for services.
So when you invest in these young survivors, you’re investing in an army of rescuers. You’re investing in insightful prevention workers. You’re investing in witnesses who have the support they need to bring down traffickers in court.
You’re investing in future leaders. A survivor in our care was valedictorian of her high school class last year. Another graduated from college this year with an IT degree.
When you give these children a fighting chance, they will take it.
