John,
It took Ted (the character I played on “How I Met Your Mother”) nine seasons to tell the whole story, but we don’t have that kind of time — so I’ll just cut to the chase and tell you about why this election is one of the most important of our lifetimes.
The Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, and national Republicans are threatening a nationwide abortion ban if they take back the Senate. We HAVE to take action to elect the leaders who fight for the things we care about. Leaders who fight to make things better.
That’s why I want to talk to you about Maggie Hassan.
Senator Hassan has worked tirelessly to protect reproductive rights, and now more than ever New Hampshire and the country can't afford to lose her leadership.
But she's up against a far-right extremist who, if elected, will force New Hampshire and the country back decades. When asked about the threat of a national abortion ban, Don Bolduc told women to "get over it."
That's unacceptable – we can, and we must do better, starting with reelecting Maggie in New Hampshire and protecting the Democratic Senate majority.
But here's the deal: Maggie's race is one of the closest in the country and Republicans think they have a real shot at ousting her. They may not be wrong - she only won her last race by 1,017 votes! If Maggie loses, Democrats lose the Senate majority, plain and simple. So I have to ask:
Will you please join me by donating $3 or whatever you can to help Maggie win her reelection campaign in New Hampshire? It’s going to be tight, and every SINGLE dollar helps.
Thanks for getting involved. It’s so important.
