Pre-Recorded Presentations

In addition to our live, virtual presentations, Farm Sanctuary's online library of pre-recorded presentations is available to teachers. There are currently 18 pre-recorded
presentations for students in pre-K through college and university. All pre-recorded presentations meet AA accessibility standards and feature captions, transcripts, and audio descriptions.

Additional resources for student engagement accompany our pre-recorded presentations, including worksheets, discussion questions, writing prompts, and even song lyrics (for the preschool sing-along and puppet shows).

This curriculum for middle and high school teachers explores animal agriculture's effects on our planet and builds scientific literacy on environmental issues related to our food
system.

Animals & Art: The Story Behind a Portrait

This curriculum features elementary, middle, and high school lessons and includes animal portraits by seven contemporary artists.

Students learn about the lives of Farm Sanctuary residents and represent them as individuals by creating original animal portraits. These teacher-led lesson plans align with
National Art and ELA Standards.

Lesson Plan Highlights:
* How Are We Similar to and Different From Farm Animals?
Students draw pictures of what foods they eat, where they live, who their families are, and what they like to do for fun. They share their pictures and discuss how they are similar to and different from their classmates' pictures. Then, they compare their drawings to what foods farm animals eat, where they live, who their families are, and what they like to do for fun. Afterward, students discuss how, even though farm animals' lives are different from ours, their lives are also similar to ours because both students and farm animals need food, shelter, family, and fun.

* Mini-Books
Students create and read their own mini books about cows, pigs, and chickens.

* Rescued Farm Animal Stories
Students learn about rescued farm animals and practice their reading comprehension by answering and developing their own questions. Finally, they discuss what they learned about farm animals and how they think farm animals want to be treated.
