John,

In a vote held by the January 6th Committee today it was recorded that a motion to subpoena Donald Trump passed by all 10 members. Criminal charge recommendations may also be issued at a later time as 30 of those interviewed invoked the fifth amendment.

While this is an important step in the right direction, the ability to hold those involved accountable hinges on our majority in the house and senate. Without a clear majority, there will be an inevitable shift towards covering up and disregarded the events of that day.

Votes in Congress, as well as allowing for more testimony, will solely depend on having Democrats elected into office. Without seats occupied with those who take this event seriously, we will devolve into an even more dangerous state that is vulnerable to another attack and even a successful coup.

We believe that the candidates we have endorsed will take this as a grimly serious matter, and combat and condemn the fascist tendencies of the MAGA-GOP. 

There is no room in public office for those who sew doubt in our democratic institutions.
