I can tell you from personal experience, John: elections here in Nevada are always close. I narrowly won in 2018 – and President Biden won by just over 33,000 votes in 2020.
Typically a Secretary of State would accept the outcome of an election and certify the results. This peaceful transfer of power is what our nation was founded on.
But right now, we have a Republican nominee for Secretary of State in Nevada, Jim Marchant, who is willing to throw that all out the door and has promised to NOT certify election results when the GOP loses. He’s a dangerous election denier, a conspiracy theorist, and a key leader of Trump’s America First Secretary of State Coalition.
Picture this: it’s the 2024 presidential election and Donald Trump is losing by a few thousands votes in Nevada and refusing to concede. Marchant has promised to do everything in his power to throw out the results - and ensure Trump wins.
And it’s not just Nevada. In states from Arizona to Michigan, MAGA election deniers are vying to become the TOP election officials who will carry out radical plans to overturn the results of a free and fair election.
