Folks — Michael’s campaign is powered by tens of thousands of hardworking people, and almost all of them live and work right here in Colorado. But for those of you supporting from afar, there are some things you should know about our state:

1. A “fourteener” is a special Colorado bragging right. Even if you’ve grown up at 5280 or above, getting to the top of a 14,000 foot high mountain is hard — and an achievement worth posting about.
    
2. We’re proud of our peaches — and our chiles. Forget Georgia; Colorado’s Palisade peaches are the sweetest in the USA. And our Pueblo green chiles put any other state’s to shame (don’t let New Mexico tell you different).
    
3. Everybody votes by mail, so we “get out the vote” for weeks. In CO, every registered voter automatically receives a ballot in mid-October. It’s great for ballot access — we have the second highest voter turnout in the country, after all — but that’s an added challenge for campaigns like ours. We need to keep our closing message in front of voters for weeks, not days.

So whether you’re grabbing a hot dog outside Bailey, watching the tarantula migration, or visiting the gators in Alamosa, Colorado is a special state, and it’s the one that could decide the Senate majority.
