STOCKTON, CA - Supervisor Tom Patti is touring the Valley to set the record straight with a series of town hall events. Next Saturday, October 22 at 2 PM he will be at the First Baptist Church in Stockton with Michael Franzese, who went from mob boss to Christian to motivational speaker to best-selling author.
Franzese was one of New York’s most notorious mobsters before being sent to prison. He was depicted in Martin Scorsese’s movie “Goodfellas.” While in prison he was handed a bible and devoted his life to God and family. He is now married with five children and changing lives with his books and motivational speaking. He recently returned from 25 speaking engagements in Europe.
His new book is “Mafia Democracy: How Our Republic Became a Mob Racket.” In it he highlights disturbing parallels between today’s political leaders and mob bosses.
He is in town to support Supervisor Patti in his run for Congress. They were introduced through a mutual friend earlier this year. “Tom is one of the good guys,” said Franzese. “He is that rare politician who is genuinely in it to make other peoples’ lives better, not his own.”
About Franzese, Supervisor Patti said, “Michael is a shining example that you can turn your life around at anytime and find redemption. I am inspired by his story and honored to have his support.”
The event is free. To attend, click the button below to RSVP. Prior to the event there will be a VIP lunch and book signing with Franzese and Supervisor Patti. For more information on the VIP event, contact Gina Brown Rishwain at [email protected] or call 310-560-9855.
