I knew political campaigns could get negative, but I never thought my opponent would stoop this low.

Yesterday, my opponent sent voters the first negative mail of this election cycle (attached below). We knew it was coming, but I really didn't expect him to attack Hoosier kids in the process. In the piece, he mischaracterizes this year's high school trans athlete bill - a bill so heinous and unnecessary even the Republican Governor vetoed it.

The reality is that every single recognized professional group opposed this bill. The Indiana High School Athletic Association even confirmed that the bill would affect exactly one student-athlete and they were already addressing the issue. Further, medical experts reminded the General Assembly that such harmful legislation could negatively impact a group of children who are already more likely to die by suicide. Now, some of these kids will find the same hateful language in their mailbox.
