John, my friend Val Demings is running to defeat Marco Rubio in one of the most competitive Senate races in the country. I just got an update from her team, and there's good news and bad news.

The good news: A new poll shows that Val Demings is surging – she's now TIED with Rubio as we head into the final stretch of this election.

The bad news: Marco Rubio and Mitch McConnell recently spent $1.3 million on TV ads in key areas of Florida to take back the lead – and this is only just the beginning.

Val Demings will only be able to compete with GOP spending and pull ahead in these final few weeks if grassroots activists like you stand with her. Please, I'm personally asking: Will you split a donation between our campaigns so that we can flip Florida blue and defend our Senate majority?

There is little that I value more than a true commitment and dedication to serving others. And when I think of folks who exemplify this best, Val Demings comes to mind.

As a social worker, she advocated and cared for vulnerable kids in her community. As Orlando’s first female chief of police, she worked hard to keep her families safe. And as a congresswoman, she served her constituents tirelessly, fiercely defending civil rights and our democracy. 

Now, she's running to defeat Marco Rubio and continue her legacy serving her state as Florida's next senator.

I know that Val Demings will be an incredible leader in the Senate. But I also know that she's in the fight of her life, and if she is going to win, she needs your help. That's why I'm asking you to chip in $5 or whatever you can spare to these races before 11:59 p.m. tonight so that we can flip Florida blue, defend our Democratic majority, and send Val Demings to the Senate.
