Dear John,
An application for what will hopefully become the first over-the-counter birth control pill was filed with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in June. Now, it’s time to let the FDA know that there is overwhelming support for this.
Submit your written testimony in support of over-the-counter birth control pills to the FDA’s Advisory Committee today.
There are a few things you should know and consider before submitting your testimony:
- The deadline to submit is midnight Eastern on October 26, 2022
- You can submit your testimony electronically or in writing
- Submissions become a part of the public record
- Submissions posted by the deadline are reviewed by the FDA Advisory Committee
- You may need to consider disclosing relevant financial relationships
- Form letters are discouraged
Reproductive justice leaders have been advocating for birth control pills to become available over-the-counter for decades, and the time has finally come. Not only do we want approval, we also want equitable access, which means making sure over-the-counter birth control pills are affordable, covered by insurance, have no age restriction, and are successfully implemented on the shelf at pharmacies and stores across the nation.
Help get over-the-counter birth control pills by submitting your written testimony today!
Thank you for taking action,
