The midterm elections are less than a month away! We've heard from lawyers nationwide who are eager to help protect the election, so for the next month you can expect more emails from us highlighting opportunities specifically to work on voting rights issues.
Because voting laws vary so widely from state to state, many of our voting rights projects need lawyers barred in specific states. If you know any lawyers in the states recruiting lawyers, please forward it to them!

With state election officials facing increased harassment, threats, and legal challenges, lawyers are needed to represent them. This is a remote opportunity, and lawyers may be barred in any state.

Help Ensure Early Vote Access in Georgia ([link removed])
Fair Fight Action
Following a new state law dramatically limiting access to absentee ballot drop boxes, lawyers are needed to confirm early voting and absentee ballot return location(s) and hours in all 159 counties in Georgia. This is a remote opportunity. Though this project is based in Georgia, lawyers in any state are welcome to volunteer.

Protect the Election by Serving as a Poll Worker ([link removed])

With the 2022 elections quickly approaching, there is an urgent need for poll workers to ensure our elections run smoothly. Training & mentorship provided. Sign up for this project to be connected with opportunities in your community. Lawyers barred in any state are welcome to volunteer.

Monitor Polling Places Across CA on Election Day ([link removed])
Common Cause California
Lawyers are needed in California to monitor polling locations during early voting and on Election Day to answer voter questions and ensure every elgibile voter can cast their ballot. Training provided. Lawyers especially needed in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, San Diego, Kern, Kings, and Tulare Counties. Lawyers must be barred in California.

Voter Protection Lawyers Needed in KY ([link removed])
Kentucky Civic Engagement Table
Lawyers are needed to help protect the vote by working with on-the-ground organizations across Kentucky to flag voter issues for county clerks, resolve issues at the polls, document ongoing voting challenges, and more. Training provided. This is a remote opportunity, and lawyers must be barred in KY.

Attend a NY Election Protection Webinar ([link removed])
Election Official Legal Defense Network
On Monday, October 17th at 6pm ET, the NY City Bar Association will host an election protection webinar for lawyers in NY to learn about volunteer voter protection opportunities for attorneys. Though this call is open to lawyers barred in any state, the content will be specific to NY.
