Folks — as I prepare to watch today’s January 6th committee hearing, I am reminded that Senator John Kennedy put our democracy in the greatest crisis we've faced since the Civil War.

Kennedy spread a dangerous lie. He told millions of people that the result was rigged. And after the violent mob stormed the Capitol, he voted to overturn the election. On January 6th, he chose lies over truth, party over country, and lawlessness and violence over law and order.

Then, Kennedy tried to hide it. He VOTED AGAINST an independent, bipartisan January 6th commission and has since tried to dismiss the seriousness of the insurrection.

But no matter how hard Kennedy and his allies downplay their role on that dreadful day for our democracy, we will NEVER forget it. And with your support, we’ll make sure it comes back to haunt them at the ballot box.
