Diapers cost too much. And it’s not inflation, it’s price gouging. [1]

Take Pampers. They’ve hiked their prices up 22% since 2018, and that’s double the rate of inflation. Meanwhile, the CEO of Procter & Gamble, the maker of Pampers, has hiked his own pay to $1,191,000 (yes, that’s $1.1 MILLION DOLLARS) with a bonus of more than 2.5x his base salary! [2] 

We see you Pampers, and unlike our babies, it's not cute! In fact, it stinks worse than a diaper explosion and it’s time for a change. 

Tell Pampers: If you’re really “dedicated to every baby’s happy, healthy development,” you’ll stop price gouging. 

I have a 19-month-old and every time I buy diapers for her I cry at the price. I’m not alone. My parenting friends across the country are experiencing the same price hikes. And these price hikes are contributing to the fact that 1 in 3 U.S. families struggles to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy. [3]

Diaper needs have serious ramifications for families. Diaper need contributes to babies having increased painful rashes and urinary infections resulting in increased trips to the ER and doctor visits. Diaper needs mean 3 in 5 parents are missing school or work because they cannot afford the diapers required for childcare. Diapers are absolutely essential to a baby’s physical and emotional wellbeing and for families’ economic security. 

Meanwhile, major diaper companies, like Pampers, are seeing their highest earnings in decades. Over the course of the pandemic, Pampers’ CEO saw pay increases from 333 times higher than the average worker, to 343 times higher. [1] Price gouging parents is bad for business and bad for babies.

Tell Pampers: If you’re really “dedicated to every baby’s happy, healthy development,” you’ll stop price gouging. 

Pampers says they’re “dedicated to every baby’s happy, healthy development,” but they’re taking advantage of inflation, the pandemic, and families to increase prices and their profits. Diapers are a basic need – hiking prices to line executive pockets is wrong and parents have had ENOUGH! 

We will deliver the message straight to the Pampers CEO: parents deserve BETTER!  Pampers must practice what they preach and actually support the healthy development of babies by providing affordable access to diapers.
