Thank you for joining me and over 2,000 others to make the Clinton Global Initiative a huge success. With 144 new commitments, CGI and this community are on the path to positively impact millions of lives around the globe. We’re proud to be a part of this impact.
I started caring about water and sanitation in 2006 – when I first learned billions of people globally live without access to safe drinking water and without safely managed sanitation. The fact of the matter is this: that number should be zero. And together, we can make that happen.
We need forums that bring us together to drive change – and that’s exactly the power of the Clinton Global Initiative. Through a model unlike any other – they're harnessing the collective energy of a community of doers who are committed to moving beyond big rhetoric to create impacts that positively transform lives.
With over 435 million people worldwide already impacted by the committed actions of the Clinton Global Initiative community members, we are proving what’s possible when we come together in the spirit of action. This is as true of the water crisis as it is of the efforts to combat climate change, expand access to quality health care, or create more economic opportunities for people around the globe.
