The election is now less than four weeks away, and while political campaigns are gearing up for the big day, we at Groundwork Project are looking beyond November 8th… At Groundwork we’re in the unique position to think big and long-term, rather than being tied to the short-term high of a campaign season. You know how critical long-term organizing is to making real change, so we’re thrilled to announce our brand new Keep Paying Your Organizer Fund (KPYO), which will allow organizations to continue paying an organizing staffer to keep doing the work beyond just one election cycle. We’re piloting the Fund this year in our home state of Massachusetts and can’t wait to report back on how it goes. Organizers are the key to a good ground game. Look at any successful campaign or movement — they were built on the hard work of organizers who are called to a cause. While some of these organizations depend on organizers for success, they often cannot continue to employ them past Election Day. That’s where we come in. Campaigns spend so much time and money building networks that by nature typically fall to the wayside after Election Day. I founded Groundwork because I saw how communities that were traditionally written off by the political establishment could benefit from stable infrastructure in their fight to make a positive change. And we have a responsibility to provide the resources they need to do it. The Keep Paying Your Organizer Fund is a big part of that mission and I hope you’ll join us by chipping in. Donate here before our deadline on Saturday. We’ve set a goal of raising $20,000 for the fund this week. Thank you for being a part of this critical work. Thanks, Joe
