** Happy holidays from the Immigrant Defense Project!
------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you so much for supporting the Immigrant Defense Project and our work throughout 2019. Though this year was marked by the divisive and hateful policies of the Trump Administration, with your support the Immigrant Defense Project has been able to remain steadfast in our mission to secure fairness and justice for all immigrants. Thank you for having a hand in each of our successes in 2019, such as:
* Prompting Governor Cuomo, NYS Attorney General Letitia James, and the Office of Court Administration (OCA) to take action to protect immigrants, like the One Day to Protect New Yorker's bill ([link removed]) , the AG's lawsuit to get #ICEOutofCourts ([link removed]) , and a new set of OCA rules regulating ICE activity in state courthouses.
* Responding to the ongoing threat of large-scale policing operations and raids by ICE. As this shadow loomed large over immigrant communities this past summer, IDP was able to respond by scaling up our work in community defense, with our materials ultimately being shared and accessed over 30,000 times.
* Continuing to challenge ICE tactics and policing practices in the national media. IDP continues to push back on a key narrative that fuels the deportation machine—the demonization of people with criminal convictions. This year, IDP did so by gaining coverage in outlets like the New York Times ([link removed]) and the Wall Street Journal ([link removed]) .
Thanks you so much for the role you played in each one of these successes. The Immigrant Defense Project is looking forward to continuing the fight to secure fairness and justice for all immigrants with you in 2020!
