Jack, if you're worried about Trump 2024—and I sure am!—then you need to be paying attention to downballot races in key states this year. And you don't need to take my word for it because Republican candidate for Nevada secretary of state Jim Marchant is out there saying it:
"If we get all of our secretaries of state elected around the country like this, we take our country back."
Trump has a plan for 2022: Get ultra-MAGA bootlickers like Marchant into key positions downballot and steal the 2024 presidential election like he tried and failed to do in 2020.
Now here's the really scary part: HE MIGHT PULL IT OFF.
Trump's attempt to steal the 2020 election and the January 6 insurrection are blaring red sirens that the guardrails for our democracy desperately need support. That's why Daily Kos has released a slate of 17 candidates running for key offices in eight crucial states. They include candidates for secretary of state (who oversee elections administration), attorney general (who can take legal action to stop an attempt to steal the election), and state supreme court (where such cases may eventually be heard).
I'm asking you to donate $17 right now—that's just $1 to each candidate—to win these races that Trump has zeroed in on, but which are flying under the radar for far too many Democrats. Please click here to support the Daily Kos Election Protection slate right now.
