21-yr Navy SEAL vs. Politician Who Has Never Passed a Bill
PORTLAND -- Ed Thelander, Navy SEAL and candidate for Maine's 1st Congressional District, tonight introduced himself to Maine voters and showed why he should be in Congress. Thelander also made plain why Chellie Pingree has failed to effectively represent them.
Thelander emphasized that on November 8 you have a clear choice.
"Chellie Pingree has one of the worst records for showing up to work in DC. She is one of the top 20 proxy voters of the 435 members of Congress.
Chellie Pingree does not get work done when she’s there. She has never passed a bill into law in the 14 years that she has said she represented you.
Chellie Pingree is divisive. She throws red meat to her base to raise money for her re-election.
We need someone who will represent us by showing up. I guarantee I will do that. My wife will see to that. You will see to that.
And when I get there, I will work tirelessly for six years with an objective at the end that I will have made life better here in Maine, and in America."
Thelander also pointed out that Pingree receives support from groups that call for defunding the police, while earlier today he received the endorsement from the Maine Association of Police, a group that represents the majority of police in Maine. Pingree also receives funding for her campaign from anti-lobstering groups, while his support for Maine's iconic industry is well-documented.
–Ed Thelander, Republican candidate for Maine’s 1st Congressional District, is a 21-veteran of the Navy SEAL Teams and resides in Bristol, where he is an active volunteer in his community.
