John,
The DCCC just dumped yet another progressive candidate in a winnable district.
Today, it’s Michelle Vallejo, the Democratic nominee for Congress in TX-15.
The DCCC’s reasoning? Anti-abortion, NRA-supporting corporate Democrat in neighboring district TX-28 — Henry Cuellar — needs the resources just a little bit more.
You heard that right— they’re choosing to put their weight behind a candidate that doesn’t support working families at the expense of a people’s champion like Michelle Vallejo.
From Day 1 of her campaign, Michelle has been ready to fight for the change South Texas deserves. She puts her heart and soul into her community. And when she won the May runoff election, despite being outspent 3 to 1, she proved that she has us — el pueblo — on her side.
Her passion for her community and her ability to win this election should mean the DCCC are doing everything they can to make sure the only progressive Latina running in South Texas gets elected. But they’re not.
Now, it's going to take a whole lot of organizing to elect Michelle to Congress — and it's up to us to fuel her campaign to victory against right-wing extremism. Let’s show the DCCC that we need to be investing in community-rooted candidates like Michelle who will champion progressive policies that invest in working people.
Will you join us in supporting Michelle’s campaign to show her that our movement has her back?
