What an incredible evening!
Thank you to everyone who made the New York Immigration Coalition’s 35th Anniversary Gala such a success! Last night we raised critical funds so that we can continue building immigrant power!
We were joined by more than 400 members, friends, colleagues and supporters old and new to hear the first-hand impact of the NYIC’s work. We also celebrated our honorees Darren Walker, President of the Ford Foundation; Kyle Bragg, President of 32BJ SEIU; and our Member of the Year, African Communities Together.
Visionary Awardee Darren Walker’s words inspired and resonated:
“This organization is an essential American organization. There is no population in this city or in this country who are more loyal and patriotic to America than immigrants. There is no population who knows American history better than immigrants, there is no population who loves this country…more than immigrants so do not let anyone tell you that immigrants don’t know this country [or] can’t be American.”
