This week is Earth Science Week and Fire Prevention Week. September 15 - October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month. In October we celebrate Disability Employment, Global Diversity, Energy, Italian-Americans, Polish-Americans, and Seafood.
Earth Science Week: October 9-15
The 2021 American Community Survey estimated about 11.1 million civilians aged 16 and over were employed in computer, engineering, and science occupations.
Fire Prevention Week: October 9-15
The 2021 American Community Survey estimates there were about 375,000 civilians employed full-time as firefighters, fire inspectors, and supervisors in the U.S.

National Nut Day: October 22
According to foreign trade stats, US exports of nuts were valued at $9.28 billion in 2020, up from $4.90 billion in 2010. Imports were $2.86 billion in 2020, up from $1.48 billion in 2010.

Italian-American Heritage and Culture Month: October
The 2021 American Community Survey estimated out of a total U.S. population of 331.9 million, 15.9 million people reported Italian ancestry, or about 4.8%.

Polish-American Heritage Month: October
The 2021 American Community Survey estimated the U.S. population at 331.9M. About 8.2M reported Polish ancestry.

National Seafood Month: October
The 2020 Business Patterns counted 10,772 establishments, $4.54B annual payroll, and 70,725 employees in fishing, seafood, and marina industries.

National Hispanic Heritage Month: Sept. 15 - Oct. 15
The 2019 American Community Survey estimated the U.S. population at 328,239,523. This includes 60,481,746 (about 18.4%) who identified as Hispanic or Latino.
