Friends,


I am honored to be endorsed by the Fraternal Order of the Police, but more importantly, I am grateful for their service.


In order to protect and serve our community, law enforcement needs support from our elected officials.


The “Defund the Police” movement and policies supported by my opponent have helped hollow out police departments across our state with officers leaving the profession in record numbers.


Our law enforcement is working overtime - being away from their families to protect ours.


They are working overtime running toward trouble, so we can run away from it.


They are working overtime to help bring peace and justice for all.


Supporting the police can’t just be lip service or political ads for our elected officials.


That support comes in many ways, including funding, training, and coordination.


We need elected officials who understand their value, risk and dedication.


Supporting the police means voting for laws to help them and against laws to hurt them.


It also means ensuring that they don’t just have a seat at the table - but influence in the outcome of the discussion.


Two years ago my opponent helped pass criminal justice reform that was opposed by nearly every law enforcement group in the state.


That doesn’t sound like justice to me.


I will listen to these experts when they give me their opinions, and use their counsel to make my decisions.


I will vote to refund their departments instead of for massive unfunded mandates that burden them with costs and regulations.


I will vote for policies to help them secure our schools to ensure that they can more safely and efficiently protect our children in cases of emergency.


I will help protect their qualified immunity so they can continue to save lives and livelihoods.


Most of all, I will vote for policies that help handcuff criminals - not the police.


I want you all to know that you don’t just have my votes - you also have my voice.


As your Congresswoman, I will fight against the anti-police narrative that is currently being told here in Illinois and around the country.


I am endorsed because these brave officers see potential and commitment in me to be that representative - their representative.
