Did you know?
The Minnesota Department of Revenue has recently updated Form W-4MNP, Minnesota Withholding Certificate for Pension or Annuity Payments, to clarify how to withhold Minnesota income tax on pensions and annuities.
The biggest change is that you no longer need to send us Forms W-4MNP. Additionally, we updated the instructions by:
- Adding separate sections for payers and payees
- Distinguishing between periodic and nonperiodic distributions
- Explaining how to withhold Minnesota tax for payees who either:
- Do not fully complete a Form W-4MNP
- Choose to have additional withholding or no withholding
