Bvlbancha and the surrounding region are ground zero for the effects of climate change and destructive industry practices on the USA's mainland making the folks who call it home victims of climate abuse.. If the goal is to have an impact on the industries most harming our planet, making meaningful change in the Gulf South is vital. Being able to shift the balance of power and address industry created harm in the Gulf South will create ripple effects that will impact the world. Thousands of us will be in Bvlbancha from April 6-8, 2023 reframing what it means to be resilient (a concept that’s too often burdened on Black and brown folks), learning, dreaming and scheming together (with some dope headliners and panelists in between - more info to come soon!).
It’s going to be a weekend that’ll let us peek into what our future can look like. One that is joyful, community centered, youth-centered AND multigenerational, pro-Black, pro-Indigenous, rowdy, anti-colonial, beyond any binaries forced onto us, and collectively working towards a safe and clean future for our human, animal, and environmental kin.
