All we heard earlier this year was that Democrats were in for a rude awakening come November. The GOP confidently declared a “red wave” was coming for Congress in the midterms.

Now that we’re a few weeks from election day, however, the tide seems to be turning on that red wave every day.

According to the Cook Political Report, a nonpartisan political tracking group, the midterms may not spell disaster for Democrats after all. In fact, they believe the Democrats now have a real path to holding on to the House!

We need to do everything we can between now and November 8th to ensure we keep the House blue, team. This is huge. Political analysts had essentially predicted the House flipping red was a foregone conclusion a few months ago. But as voters have seen more and more how extreme the GOP is getting on a range of issues, they’re turning towards Democrats for sensible, tempered leadership.

But I’ll be honest, team. We’ve still got a lot of work to do to keep this district blue. While things are looking up for Democrats nationally, recent polling shows we still have some ground to make up here in the Third District to help Brad catch up to Derrick Van Orden.
