Dear John,
As Florida continues the recovery process in the wake of Hurricane Ian, we have a lot of work ahead of us. Depending on your situation, you may qualify for certain government federal grants or programs to help with the recovery process.
Please continue to monitor local and state public safety guidance. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved individual assistance for Floridians in 19 counties, including Polk, Hillsborough, and Lake. To apply for individual disaster assistance, please apply online or by calling 800-621-3362. If you are unsure for which aid you may qualify, the federal Disaster Assistance office offers a questionnaire tool. Additionally, the Small Business Administration (SBA) offers business and homeowner disaster loans here.
As we work to rebuild, I am inspired by the tireless efforts of our state partners and those who answered the call to assist in Florida’s recovery process. My office stands ready to help to cut through the red tape of federal agencies. If you have any questions, please call my Lakeland office at 863-644-8215. Additionally, you may be interested to review more resources for hurricane recovery on my website here.
I'm honored to represent you in Congress. For more information on constituent services, current legislation, and to sign up for my e-newsletter, please visit my website at franklin.house.gov.
Best regards,
C. Scott Franklin
