John –

It’s downright befuddling to hear Republicans
pine for the days of Trump. They talk about how much they miss
him and all he did for our country.

But it makes sense, because the GOP is
anti-government. They want to portray the government as a foil, a
big bad entity, to tell people that the government is what’s
wrong in their lives. So when President Biden and Democrats in
Congress use government to substantially improve people’s lives,
Republicans recoil in horror.

If Republicans regain control of the House,
they’ll sabotage our government at every turn. Make a
contribution now to help us hold our Democratic majority >>

The progress of the last few months – one of the
most productive periods in the modern history of the U.S.
government – really gets under their skin. Instead of facing
whatever internal demons cause them to oppose progress, they
reminisce about the good old days of President Trump.

So we wanted to do a quick comparison of our
current President with the former one. Because we agree with
Republicans on one thing: there is a HUGE difference.

President Trump:

Two years before he tried to overthrow the
government, he caused and oversaw the longest government shutdown
in U.S. history (no wonder Republicans love him).

President Biden:

Has overseen one of the most productive
periods of governance in modern history.

President Trump:

Passed a tax cut for billionaires as his
only major policy victory.

President Biden:

Passed a COVID relief bill to get the
country safely back to normal life. Passed historic climate
investments. Passed prescription drug price cuts. Passed major
jobs and national security legislation, bringing opportunities
for good-paying jobs to many different communities. Passed a
veterans health bill over Republican obstruction.

President Trump:

Used executive orders to discriminate
against Muslim Americans and to try to weaken the Affordable Care
Act.

President Biden:

Uses executive orders to protect
reproductive rights and to rejoin the world in tackling climate
change.

President Trump:

Was hostile to workers and organized labor.

President Biden:

Has presided over a historic expansion of
workers' rights and the creation of 10 million jobs.

President Trump:

Appointed the right-wing activist Supreme
Court justices who overturned a half century of established
reproductive rights.

President Biden:

Appointed Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the
first Black woman to sit on the nation’s highest court.

Obviously we’re glad that Trump is no longer
the president. But there’s a real chance that his MAGA minions
could take over Congress this year and do everything they can to
sabotage President Biden’s ability to deliver for Americans. Will
you make a contribution to help us stop the MAGA onslaught
against government and the people it serves?
