A few days ago, the World Congress of Families was held in Mexico City, thousands of people from all over the world gathered to celebrate, to promote and protect the family.

It was an intense weekend, where I had the chance to present in the plenary, talk to a couple of TVs, say hello to multiple CitizenGO members, share some t-shirts with congress attendees, liaise with many friends… 

It was amazing to meet each one of you! Your words encourage us to continue our fight.

CitizenGO was there with a stand informing attendees of our campaigns and activities. Thanks to all of you who came to visit us and meet our campaigners. We made new friendships and strengthened old ones.

It was a very emotional moment when the CitizenGO team received a blessing from H.E. Cardinal Müller. Pope Francis sent a personal message to greet those of us in attendance, delivered by the Catholic Church’s primate in Mexico, Cardinal Carlos Aguiar Retes.

Among others, we heard from:

• The IOF’s founder, Dr. Allan Carlson.
• H. E. Cardinal Gerhard Müller, the former Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith of the Catholic Church (who pulled no punches in calling sex reassignment the work of the devil).
• Jim Daly, president of Focus on the Family, one of the most influential pro-family groups in the world.
• Christopher West, founder and president of the Institute for the Theology of the Bod and  the world's most recognized professor of John Paul II's "Theology of the Body."
• Nicki and Sila Lee,  authors of The Marriage Book and The Marriage Course that are helping couples all over the world support and strengthen their relationship.
• European Royalty, with comments about the importance of the family from Princess Gloria of Thurn and Taxis, and many more conferences that were enriching and courageous. 

In short, over five thousand people participated in the Congress, making it the largest one so far.

This is very important because all those who participated went back to their home countries, with new zeal and new information they will invest in strengthening their causes and deepening their commitment to life and family.

It is more than clear that we find ourselves in a cultural war.

On the one side we have the former relativists, defenders of the dogmas of political correctness without admitting discrepancies or dissent. On the other side are those of us who defend human life from conception, family and freedom.

We are fighting those who defend free abortion, gender ideology, castration of children suffering from gender dysphoria, reduction of the world population and the prohibition of public expression of faith.

Time and again it seems that those who defend these hideous things have won the cultural battle: they have hegemony over universities, the media and politics.

There are still years to shake off the yoke of progressive ideology, and these are the reasons: 

• Young people, the so-called generation Z, is basically all woke.
• Large corporations and oligarchs are also woke and spend many millions to finance progressive foundations and NGOs.
• The civil service and the bureaucracy is 'woke', so even if someone politically incorrect wins, they will have to do so with the handbrake on.
• The laws of most Western countries are impregnated with this progressive ideology.

However, I am optimistic. CitizenGO is optimistic. We are going to end up winning this battle if we work with intelligence and dedication!

The fundamental reason is that the woke ideology (the ideology the radical left promotes worldwide) is a LIE. And lies have very short legs.

But there are also other signs of hope:

• Young people, rebels by nature, join the resistance because the woke ideology is boring and does not allow debate or creativity.
• Initiatives are appearing in the Church that are spreading at great speed with great intensity.
• Civil society is increasingly mobilized and better organized every day
• Victories like that of Georgia Meloni in Italy are beginning to take place, challenging political correctness and the totalitarianism of the extreme left.

The woke ideology is a “giant with feet of clay".
