** I can't help but think this is somewhat questionable decision making on her part. But then again, she's trying to save the planet and all.

Fox News ([link removed]) (10/12/22) reports: "A top Biden administration official briefed a "funders only" event hosted earlier this year by the Energy Foundation, her former employer, according to records obtained by an energy policy group. Allison Clements, a Democratic commissioner on the five-member Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), ultimately agreed to attend the Jan. 10 funder event despite an Energy Foundation official suggesting her presence might be "inappropriate," according to text messages and emails obtained by the Institute for Energy Research (IER) and shared with Fox News Digital. 'Not sure if this is inappropriate to ask or not-would you be interested / willing / available to talk with funder group about Ferc 2022 priorities,' Energy Foundation fossil fuels program director Meredith Wingate wrote in a text message to Clements in December. Wingate
then said the group would consider rescheduling the event if Clements wasn't able to attend on Jan. 10...While the content of Clements' briefing remains unclear, IER and ethics experts said her presence at a meeting of apparent Energy Foundation donors raised ethics questions. 'Meeting regularly with far left organizations she used to work for creates a troubling impression,' IER President Tom Pyle told Fox News Digital. 'Briefing the funders of these groups on the ‘FERC opportunity’ is inescapably improper.' 'At the very least, Commissioner Clements should recuse herself from voting on matters of interest to the Energy Foundation,' he continued. 'If she was a Republican commissioner who was this cozy with industry representatives, the left would be calling for her resignation.'"

The Biden administration made its priorities clear to OPEC+: please delay your cuts until after the midterm elections.
** Wall Street Journal ([link removed])
(10/11/22) reports: "Days before a major oil-production cut by OPEC and its Russia-led allies, U.S. officials called their counterparts in Saudi Arabia and other big Gulf producers with an urgent appeal—delay the decision for another month, according to people familiar with the talks. The answer: a resounding no. U.S. officials warned Saudi leaders that a cut would be viewed as a clear choice by Riyadh to side with Russia in the Ukraine war and that the move would weaken already-waning support in Washington for the kingdom, the people said. Saudi officials dismissed the requests, which they viewed as a political gambit by the Biden administration to avoid bad news ahead of the U.S. midterm elections, on which control of Congress hangs. High gas prices and inflation have been central issues in the campaign. Instead, the people said, the kingdom leaned on its OPEC allies to approve the cut, which is aimed at reducing production by 2 million barrels a day. Adrienne Watson, a National Security
Council spokeswoman, rejected Saudi contentions that the Biden administration efforts were driven by political calculations. U.S. officials questioned a Saudi analysis that the price of oil was about to plunge and urged them to wait and see how the market reacted. If the price did collapse, U.S. officials told their Saudi counterparts, OPEC+ could react whenever they needed."

Your daily reminder that the characters running the show in Joe Biden's White House have no idea how energy production happens in America. Or they do know and just don't care.

(10/12/22) column: "The Biden administration’s latest excuse for high gasoline prices is priceless, it’s Trump’s fault. Current Labor Secretary Marty Walsh came out with this astonishing claim in an interview on CNN Newsroom where he said, 'If the last administration made investments in refineries, we wouldn’t be where we are today.' That’s right, you read it right, the Trump administration should have invested taxpayer dollars in oil refineries and if they had, we would be awash in low cost gasoline. The reason that Walsh made this claim is because private investors are not as interested as you might think they would be in oil refinery investment...The Institute for Energy Research, a Washington, D.C. based non-profit, wrote that one of the refineries slated to close at the end of 2023 is 'due to the financial burden of upgrading its infrastructure and to advance its de-carbonization goals pushed by the Biden administration.'...So, no Secretary Walsh, the Biden administration cannot blame
President Trump for high gasoline prices or a failure to expand refinery capacity. Perhaps it is time for your administration to engage in some honest introspection about the impact of their policies on domestic oil refining, and come clean with America. High gasoline prices are not a flaw in the Joe Biden’s energy plan, they are a feature. A feature designed to make expensive energy like wind and solar to appear cheap, while making inexpensive and available energy unaffordable."
