thanks for your support What a Year... As we look back on 2019, we can't help but marvel at our progress - monumental changes to the IMD exclusion, new treatment laws around the country, and our first-ever national AOT Symposium! Your support made all of these advances possible. But even as we celebrate our successes, we know our work is far from done. Advocacy Thanks to our aBedInstead efforts, broad reforms of the IMD exclusion became a reality. As a result of TAC-supported changes, states can now restore desperately needed treatment beds in partnership with the federal government. Our advocacy team continued its momentum as a host of states passed new treatment laws. We were proud to celebrate law changes in Alabama, Colorado, Hawaii, Michigan, North Dakota, Texas, and Utah. Research Our research holding the National Institute of Mental Health to account led the federal government to announce its first national study of the number of Americans affected by serious mental illness in decades. In partnership with the National Sheriffs' Association and the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police, we also released Road Runners, our latest report finding that law enforcement spends 1/5 of its time and nearly $1 billion annually transporting people with severe mental illness. Community In October, nearly 250 advocates, officials and family members gathered in Columbus, Ohio, for our first National AOT Symposium and Learning Collaborative. Our implementation team was also on the ground in 17 states providing expert on-the-ground assistance to communities implementing AOT programs to help the most severely ill. We have even bigger goals for 2020. But it cannot happen without supporters like you. Donate Today View as Webpage Treatment Advocacy Center | 200 N Glebe Rd, Ste 801, Arlington, VA 22203 Unsubscribe
