Back in 2018, I flipped IL-06 blue after half a century of Republican control. How did I do it?

I addressed the elephant in the room: the climate crisis – what it is, what the consequences of inaction will be, and how we’re going to step up and fix it.

But now, I’m running against a right-wing, climate-crisis-denying mayor. My opponent refuses to acknowledge the undisputed scientific reality that climate change is caused by human activity.

And to make matters worse, RealClearPolitics just downgraded my district to a “Toss-Up” – making this one of the most competitive races of the cycle. This is going to be a close and expensive race to the finish.

That’s why I’m reaching out for your help. Can I count on you to split a donation of $25 or whatever you can between me and SEEC PAC to help keep Illinois blue and continue our climate progress in Washington?

I’m proud to be one of the leading voices in the House for climate change action. As a member of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC), I rallied my fellow House Democrats to put climate action at the center of our agenda. That work ultimately paid off when we passed the Inflation Reduction Act, the greatest investment in climate action in our nation’s history.

But even if I wasn’t an expert on climate change, I’d still know that if the GOP takes power again, they’ll tear apart every ounce of progress we’ve made.

That threat is becoming more serious by the day. Republicans only need to flip five seats to take back control of the House – and I can’t let this district be one of them.
